Title of Novel: Racing Heart

Q1. How long have you been writing? And what was the first thing you can remember writing?

I have written since primary school I always loved to write free style essays. But for ‘real’ I started to write in my high school where my teacher rejected everything I had written. That made me start publishing my short and not so short stories in different magazines. They were always well accepted.

Q2. Did you always want to be a writer?

Well, I still do. I haven’t crossed that line yet. In the future I would like to make my living out of writing… There is still a long way ahead of me.

Q3. How did you feel when you were writing this book?

Mostly I felt curious where the story would lead and at the end I wondered if I would get myself a publisher. Well, I did.

Q4. How long did it take to write?

Over one and a half years to write it down. It would be done sooner, but being a full time working mother of a child with special needs… well… I need to know my priorities.

Q5. Do you have a special place where you go to write?

I have my writing corner in our bedroom so, when the family falls asleep then this is my time for writing. Being a night owl, it’s not a problem for me to write up to 1am or 2 am or even 3am… It’s more dificult for me to get up in the morning… (lol)

Q6. When you begin writing, did you ever think you’d get to where you are now?

Hmmm… no. When I started to write I never thought I would ever have a published book in English. Not translated, written by me in English. You see, I’m not from UK and I’m not English… I come from Slovenia and our language is so different from English that you cannot even imagine how much the languages differ. So, the answer is NO. I never thought I’d get to where I am now. And believe me, I’m not done yet. There is still  a road ahead of me. The road I need to walk and explore before reaching my final destination.

Thanks June, it’s amazing to hear about your writing journey, you truly are an inspiration to other writers!
