When Detective Erika Foster receives a tip-off that key evidence for a major narcotics case was stashed in a disused quarry on the outskirts of London, she orders for it to be searched. From the thick sludge the drugs are recovered, but so is the skeleton of a young child.
The remains are quickly identified as seven-year-old Jessica Collins. The missing girl who made headline news twenty-six years ago.
Is the suspect someone close to home? Someone is keeping secrets. Someone who doesn’t want this case solved. And they’ll do anything to stop Erika from finding the truth.
I am an unapologetic raving fan of Robert Bryndza — after reading books 1 & 2 of the Detective Erika Foster Thriller series, I had to dive into Dark Water immediately. I fed my kids fish fingers for 36 hours and I’m not even ashamed of that. Continue reading
Malcolm Wilson learns that everything is always temporary. Growing up, he’s raised by a promiscuous mother who can’t stay out of trouble, his best friend is a thirteen-year-old alcoholic, and the masters at his tough Scottish school are always raising their canes in his direction. When he becomes an adult, he escapes, and chooses the safe route, watching the world from a distance. Everything changes the day he meets the beautiful, alluring, green-eyed Heather, and when he learns of Heather’s own abusive childhood and the horrific secret she’s been carrying, Malcolm decides to help her. And, this time he’s not backing down, whatever the cost.
The first book of the “My Temporary Life” Trilogy tells a story of love, friendship, and what it truly means to be a hero. A top-ten overall Amazon bestseller, this grand, sweeping story has been enjoyed by readers all over the world.
There should be a genre for books called, “life-changing read”. This novel would fit.
I absolutely loved My Temporary Life by Martin Crosbie — the second half of it. In all honesty, the first half was a little hard to get into. But please do persevere because by the time Malcolm and Heather go camping this is game-on, can’t-put-down suspense that leaves you breathlessly transformed as a person. Continue reading
Her eyes are wide open. Her lips parted as if to speak. Her dead body frozen in the ice…She is not the only one.
When a young boy discovers the body of a woman beneath a thick sheet of ice in a South London park, Detective Erika Foster is called in to lead the murder investigation.
The victim, a beautiful young socialite, appeared to have the perfect life. Yet when Erika begins to dig deeper, she starts to connect the dots between the murder and the killings of three prostitutes, all found strangled, hands bound and dumped in water around London.
What dark secrets is the girl in the ice hiding?
I kept seeing flashes of The Girl in the Ice by Robert Bryndza — it was sneaking up on me in my peripheral vision. I noticed it had sold a million copies but initially I resisted buying & reading it because every thriller seems to be “THE GIRL….” these days.
Boy, did I wait too long to discover DCI Erika Foster and this series. This is a mesmerising read. Eye-poppingly good.
BE MY LOVE is the first book in the fun and romantic “Walker Island” contemporary romance series! Lucy Kevin is the “sweet” pen-name of New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Bella Andre (who writes the #1 bestselling series about The Sullivans). Lucy Kevin books are fun, flirty and romantic―without the steamy scenes.
BOOK DESCRIPTION: Come for a visit to Walker Island where you’ll find stunning Pacific Northwest ocean views, men too intriguing to resist…and five close-knit sisters who are each about to find their one true love.
One day, Bella Andre followed me on Twitter.
I’d heard of her as a mega-successful indie author of romance, but had never looked at her work. However when she’d followed me what did I do? Followed her back, and bought her permafree 1st book in the Walker series all within 60 seconds. Bam. That is genius book marketing.
A domestic suspense debut about a young couple and their apparently friendly neighbors—a twisty, rollercoaster ride of lies, betrayal, and the secrets between husbands and wives. . .
Anne and Marco Conti seem to have it all—a loving relationship, a wonderful home, and their beautiful baby, Cora. But one night when they are at a dinner party next door, a terrible crime is committed. Suspicion immediately focuses on the parents. But the truth is a much more complicated story.
Inside the curtained house, an unsettling account of what actually happened unfolds. Detective Rasbach knows that the panicked couple is hiding something. Both Anne and Marco soon discover that the other is keeping secrets, secrets they’ve kept for years.
What follows is the nerve-racking unraveling of a family—a chilling tale of deception, duplicity, and unfaithfulness that will keep you breathless until the final shocking twist. Continue reading

I’m not sure how I discovered this book, I think I was on Goodreads (trying, oh trying to figure out how Goodreads works!) and saw it.
As an author of a memoir about landing a “dream job” working for a playboy billionaire, I couldn’t wait to read a humorous fiction based on this very topic! Continue reading
