    Hi,

I missed out on the Hursley Literary event last year because I was away. I am a local author and my first novel was published on 30th October, it is called The Haunting of Violet Gray. It is a YA/NA magical realism novel but It also appeals to people with an interest in witches, magic and historical fiction.

I was inspired by an event that occurred in Hampshire in 1940 which was so scandalous it remained hidden for nearly eighty years.

I am starting to get some great reviews from bloggers who received early review copies of the book and I have already received interest from a TV/film scout.

I would love to be involved in your event next year either as a ‘meet the author’ or I have two presentations prepared. One is about the inspiration behind the book including local stories of witchcraft and the secret collaboration between the government, aristocracy and occultists during the second world war. The other is my journey to publishing. I am also developing a workshop/seminar for teens. (I am an ex-secondary school teacher.)

    Best wishes

    Emily
